En haut, il est reli\u00e9 \u00e0 la<em> limite inf\u00e9rieure de l\u2019omoplate<\/em>. Il s\u2019attache ensuite \u00e0 l\u2019<em>apophyse \u00e9pineuse (pointe externe des vert\u00e8bres) de la 7<sup>e<\/sup> vert\u00e8bre thoracique<\/em>. Puis, il longe la colonne jusqu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019<em>apophyse \u00e9pineuse de la 5e vert\u00e8bre lombaire<\/em> par l\u2019<em>apon\u00e9vrose<\/em> ou le <em>fascia thoraco-lombaire<\/em> (grande zone blanche sur l\u2019image), qui fait partie de sa structure musculaire. Tout en bas, ce fascia s\u2019attache \u00e0 l\u2019extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieure du<em> bassin \u00e0 la cr\u00eate iliaque<\/em>, <em>et aussi \u00e0 une partie du sacrum<\/em>.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vers l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur, le muscle grand dorsal s\u2019attache aux <em>3<sup>e<\/sup> et 4<sup>e<\/sup> c\u00f4tes inf\u00e9rieures<\/em> avant de finalement s\u2019ins\u00e9rer dans la <em>goutti\u00e8re bicipitale<\/em> (un interstice long de 8 cm) \u00e0 l\u2019<em>extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieure de l\u2019hum\u00e9rus<\/em> <em>dans le bras<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Quelles sont les principales fonctions du muscle grand dorsal?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le muscle grand dorsal intervient dans nos mouvements en produisant l\u2019<em>extension<\/em> (vers le bas et l\u2019arri\u00e8re) l\u2019<em>adduction<\/em> (vers le centre) et la <em>rotation interne<\/em> (vers l\u2019int\u00e9rieur) du bras. Au tai chi, il nous permet de bouger les bras dans plusieurs des jongs. Pouvez-vous visualiser son action? De plus, la partie scapulaire du muscle grand dorsal <em>stabilise les omoplates<\/em>, ce qui nous aide \u00e0 garder les bras l\u00e9gers lorsque nous les \u00e9levons au-dessus de la t\u00eate. Sans cette importante stabilisation, il nous serait impossible d\u2019\u00e9lever les bras compl\u00e8tement, ce qui nous limiterait \u00e9norm\u00e9ment dans tous nos mouvements quotidiens o\u00f9 il faut les allonger.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Puisqu\u2019il s\u2019attache aux c\u00f4tes inf\u00e9rieures, le muscle grand dorsal joue aussi un <em>r\u00f4le accessoire lors de l\u2019inspiration profonde<\/em> <em>et de l\u2019expiration forc\u00e9e<\/em>. Quand les bras sont fixes, sa contraction fait s\u2019\u00e9lever les c\u00f4tes et s\u2019ouvrir la cage thoracique, ce qui facilite l\u2019inspiration profonde. Et quand on tousse ou \u00e9ternue, la contraction de ses fibres comprime le thorax et force l\u2019air \u00e0 sortir. C\u2019est un muscle fascinant!    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Dans quels mouvements du tai chi le muscle grand dorsal est-il le plus actif?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le muscle grand dorsal est reli\u00e9 au bassin et au sacrum par une <em>connexion myofaciale<\/em>, ce qui rev\u00eat un int\u00e9r\u00eat particulier pour le tai chi. Dans cette r\u00e9gion, il apporte stabilit\u00e9 \u00e0 tout le bassin, surtout quand il y a du poids \u00e0 soutenir <em>(ce qui nous pr\u00e9pare \u00e0 descendre dans les danyu)<\/em>. <strong>Et du fait de sa disposition exceptionnelle, cette connexion myofaciale relie les bras<\/strong><strong><em> (l\u00e0 o\u00f9 le tendon s\u2019ins\u00e8re)<\/em><\/strong> <strong>\u00e0 la partie sup\u00e9rieure du bassin.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lorsqu\u2019on laisse descendre les bras par exemple, le tendon du muscle grand dorsal s\u2019active, ce qui nous aide \u00e0 rester plus stable dans la descente du bassin <em>(comme dans le toryu, lorsqu\u2019on se d\u00e9pose dans le pied arri\u00e8re, les bras vers le bas et l\u2019int\u00e9rieur)<\/em>. Il importe de comprendre que ce n\u2019est pas le muscle grand dorsal qui produit la descente, mais d\u2019autres muscles, comme le psoas. Le muscle grand dorsal contribue plut\u00f4t au positionnement et \u00e0 l\u2019alignement du bassin, ce qui permet une descente stable et efficace, tout en \u00e9quilibre.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il y a plusieurs mouvements du tai chi qui activent le muscle grand dorsal et qui d\u00e9pendent de sa bonne sant\u00e9 et de sa souplesse. Dans les <em>effleurer le genou<\/em>, les bras alternent, chacun leur tour <em>s\u2019allongeant<\/em> vers l\u2019arri\u00e8re pour ensuite revenir vers l\u2019avant dans une <em>rotation int\u00e9rieure vers le centre<\/em>. Dans le <em>simple fouet<\/em>, les bras s\u2019allongent et le corps s\u2019ouvre dans la m\u00eame orientation, ce qui active les fibres musculaires s\u2019attachant aux c\u00f4tes. Dans le <em>jong<\/em> qui consiste \u00e0 croiser les mains <em>au centre (adduction)<\/em> pour ensuite les \u00e9lever au-dessus de la t\u00eate dans une <em>rotation interne<\/em> (les paumes vers le haut), le muscle grand dorsal est le principal acteur. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Quels bienfaits pour la sant\u00e9 y a-t-il dans cette interconnexion du muscle grand dorsal?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Comme on le comprendra, le muscle grand dorsal, qui s\u2019\u00e9tend consid\u00e9rablement en longueur et en largeur, n\u00e9cessite une souplesse et une force immenses pour bien fonctionner. Formant une bonne partie de la masse musculaire, il nous apporte \u00e9quilibre, coordination et stabilit\u00e9 dans presque tous les mouvements o\u00f9 les bras sont initialement le long du corps, au niveau du tronc et du bassin. L\u2019interconnexion indispensable qu\u2019il cr\u00e9e entre les membres sup\u00e9rieurs et inf\u00e9rieurs nous permet d\u2019effectuer des mouvements d\u2019une dynamique complexe. Sans ce muscle incroyable, il nous serait pratiquement impossible de fonctionner de fa\u00e7on ind\u00e9pendante.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L&rsquo;effet de stabilisation du muscle grand dorsal assure le maintien et l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de notre posture dans sa globalit\u00e9, et att\u00e9nue donc les \u00e9ventuels inconforts et douleurs dans le dos. La gamme des mouvements de l\u2019\u00e9paule s\u2019en trouve aussi enrichie et maintenue. Enfin, la fonction secondaire du muscle grand dorsal dans la respiration ne peut \u00eatre ignor\u00e9e. Nous savons tous combien la respiration peut devenir laborieuse quand on a la grippe; en cas de congestion, le muscle grand dorsal contribue discr\u00e8tement \u00e0 la gu\u00e9rison.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Au tai chi, la douceur, la lenteur et la fluidit\u00e9 des mouvements que nous pratiquons apportent force et \u00e9lasticit\u00e9 au muscle grand dorsal, des qualit\u00e9s essentielles \u00e0 son bon fonctionnement. Sa vitalit\u00e9 s\u2019en trouve rehauss\u00e9e gr\u00e2ce au caract\u00e8re multidimensionnel des mouvements et aux interactions qui se produisent entre les quatre membres et la colonne vert\u00e9brale.
